Would you like the opportunity to influence key decisions for transport within Greater Manchester, by partnering with various functional/departmental areas to deliver an extensive programme of work? Transport for Greater Manchester are seeking driven Procurement Managers to support the business through a significant period of change by developing and supporting complex procurement activities across a portfolio of transport projects.

 

In this role you will be part of a small team within the Procurement Department, responding to increasing demand across the business and offering you exposure to senior management and an array of stakeholders. This will provide you with the opportunity to inform and influence decision making which directly impacts on the people and places of Greater Manchester.

 

TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. This is a busy and exciting time for us with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse as transport plays a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.

 

As a Procurement Manager, you will be the first point of contact for procurement in your area(s) of responsibility, partnering with functional teams such as Bus, Metrolink, Rail, Sustainable Journeys and often stakeholders beyond TfGM. You will assist in the development of procurement strategies leveraging spend and wider opportunities aligned to the organisation’s strategic priorities.

You will be an experienced procurement professional with an entrepreneurial approach and have experience of developing and implementing commodity strategies. You will also have experience of supplier management, building relationships for success and be MCIPS qualified or willing to study towards it. Ideally, you will also have some contract management experience.

The salary range for this role is £51,252 - £57,688 per annum. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
