Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) operates a 24/7 Control Room that is responsible for helping to deliver and improve transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for customers on our transport network. We put the customer first in everything we do to help make travel as simple and safe as possible in Greater Manchester. We’re recruiting for a Control Centre Manager to join us in managing a team and ensuring the seamless delivery of multi modal transport services across the network.

 

You’ll manage a team responsible for monitoring the modal transport network, utilising multiple systems and databases, a variety of CCTV systems and assets including social media feeds to identify any issues and provide timely action and interventions. You will be responsible for managing the team to deliver incident and event management planning and operations.

 

We are seeking a dynamic and reliable individual who can lead and manage the team and deliver high performance within our multi modal Control Centre, this is a 24/7 operational environment and you’ll be required to work on a shift rota basis along with colleagues providing 24 hours coverage 7 days a week. You will have strong communications skills and be able to prioritise information, whilst demonstrating critical thinking skills. You will also be able to demonstrate the ability to disseminate complex reports to defined deadlines.  You will be able to work effectively in high pressure situations with sensitive issues, whilst also having the capability to make decisions and deal with dynamic fluctuations in workloads.

This is a permanent role with a salary of £41,670 - £46,901 per annum depending on experience. The role also comes with a 16.3% shift allowance. Valuing and rewarding our workforce is important to us which is why we offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:
